Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to appoint Rustem Umerov as head of the country’s Foreign Intelligence Service. Umerov currently serves as secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council. The reported move was described by Ukrainska Pravda and RBC-Ukraine, which cited sources familiar with the plan. Umerov has also been Ukraine’s negotiator in talks involving Russia and the United States.
