Government data show that more than 5,000 people have died and over 10,000 have been infected in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s deadliest recorded Ebola outbreak. Authorities have not brought it under control, and no treatments or vaccines are approved for the strain. The outbreak has reached eight provinces and neighbouring countries.
