After returning to Warsaw, President Karol Nawrocki met urgently with Supreme Court First President Zbigniew Kapinski and Bogdan Swieczkowski, previously reported suspended as acting head of the Constitutional Court. Nawrocki turned his plane back from the trip to Senegal after Justice Minister Waldemar Zurek moved to strip Swieczkowski of immunity. Protests over Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s court appointment have included attempts to break through barriers around the court.
