DoorDash co-founder and CEO Tony Xu said on the company’s third-quarter earnings call that AI agents had generated only several hundred orders since becoming available. DoorDash handled just under 1 billion orders in the quarter. Xu said agents may be more useful for complex, considered purchases, while customers generally order food directly through DoorDash.
