TechFujifilm to quintuple tape production capacity as AI drives archiving demand
Fujifilm plans to invest about 10 billion yen ($63 million) to raise magnetic-tape production capacity fivefold from fiscal 2025 levels. The Odawara site expansion will run from fiscal 2026 through 2028, primarily producing its latest LTO Ultrium 10 tape. The company attributes rising archiving demand to generative AI’s exponential growth in global data needs.
