EconomyEurope struggles to reach 75% gas storage capacity despite increased LNG imports
TASS calculations based on Gas Infrastructure Europe data show European underground gas storage was 74.89% full on October 28, 14.79 percentage points below the five-year average and the lowest for that date since monitoring began in 2011. Record LNG imports for this time of year have not brought storage up to the winter target. EU rules call for 90% capacity from October 1 to December 1, though the European Commission may lower this year's target to 80%.
