The UN named China’s Blue Bay Restoration Initiative a World Restoration Flagship at the biodiversity convention’s COP17 meeting in Yerevan, Armenia. Jointly led by China’s natural resources and finance ministries, it aims to restore more than 150,000 hectares of coastal wetlands and over 2,000 kilometers of coastline by 2030.
