At the Russia-Africa summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Libya’s Presidential Council chairman Mohamed al-Menfi that Western interference had played a significantly negative role in the destruction of Libyan statehood. Putin also noted al-Menfi’s focus on restoring national unity and territorial integrity and holding presidential and parliamentary elections.
