EconomyKazakhstan imports more gas in nine months of 2026 than in all of 2025
Kazakhstan imported 6.4 billion cubic meters of gas in January-September 2026, compared with 4.7 billion for all of 2025. Marketable gas production fell 10% to 17.6 billion cubic meters in the first nine months. The Energy Ministry attributed higher imports to rising domestic consumption; Russia is among the suppliers.
