A direct route from Peru’s Chancay Port to Shanghai has cut the transit time for Peruvian organic bananas to 22 days from more than 30. The route usually takes about 23 days, roughly 10 days less than conventional sea routes, helping fresh produce reach Chinese buyers ahead of the Nov. 5–10 import expo in Shanghai.
