PoliticsEU citizens in UK told post-Brexit residency rights were granted ‘in error’

Some EU citizens who have spent years building lives in the UK are being told they may not have the right to remain. The Home Office has begun withdrawing post-Brexit residency rights from certain people, saying those rights were granted “in error”. At least 100 individuals have received such notifications, disrupting their plans as they approach the end of five years of pre-settled status. They had been preparing to move to permanent settled status. The action has prompted concerns over the UK’s compliance with its withdrawal agreement with Europe.
