EconomyRussia sees potential for grain hub in Egypt’s Alexandria
Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut said Russia sees potential for a grain hub in Alexandria, where a Russian trader is already operating. Egypt has also proposed another site, whose economic terms are being assessed. Lut said logistical constraints in the Azov-Black Sea Basin reduced Russian grain supplies to Egypt to 1.6 million metric tons at the start of this season, from 3.5 million last year.
