WorldFrance: Most of 224,000 evacuees allowed to return home after devastating fires
Most of the 224,000 people evacuated in France have been allowed to return home after devastating wildfires. In the southeastern Var department, a blaze that had been brought under control three days earlier flared up again on Friday. Authorities evacuated nearly 2,500 people overnight as a result. Reporter James Andre also visited Gironde, where France’s largest wildfire in more than 70 years was recently brought under control.
