EconomyOBR sharply cuts UK growth forecast for 2027
The Office for Budget Responsibility cut its forecasts for growth, living standards and public finances, citing the economic damage from the Middle East war and higher energy costs. It raised this year’s growth estimate from 1.1% to 1.2% but lowered the 2027 forecast from 1.6% to 1%, and expects inflation of 3.5% this year. Around 20 million households are to receive £100 payments.
