CultureRe-created ironed-paper models revive a lost craft
A set of re-created models of Beijing’s Qianlong Garden is on display at the Palace Museum. Made mainly of paper, tangyang models once presented building designs and guided construction. Drawing on research into mid-Qing techniques, the museum has recreated the craft, which had gradually disappeared.
