PoliticsEU proposes giving Frontex major new powers
The European Commission has proposed expanding Frontex’s resources and authority so it can help non-EU countries return irregular migrants and take on more of the deportation process. It follows the humanitarian crisis in Ceuta and drew criticism from a Green MEP, who accused the Commission of pandering to populism and the far right.
