At the Gas Exporting Countries Forum summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin said natural gas would continue to strengthen its role as a pillar of global energy, industry and agriculture. Global consumption rose 1.2% to 4.2 trillion cubic meters in 2025, and annual demand is projected to reach 5.5 trillion cubic meters.
