EconomyByteDance founder Zhang Yiming tops China rich list with US$99.7 billion as AI boosts fortunes

Zhang Yiming, ByteDance’s founder, has regained the top spot on China’s rich list with a fortune of US$99.7 billion, up 43 per cent and a record for the country’s richest individual. The Hurun Research Institute linked the rise to ByteDance’s aggressive expansion into AI.
