Evacuation orders were issued on Friday for areas west and northwest of Athens after fresh wildfires erupted near the Greek capital. Firefighters worked to contain the flames, while winds reaching about 50 miles per hour disrupted water-bombing aircraft. Fires elsewhere in Greece were brought under control, but authorities still face a very high risk of further outbreaks.
