PoliticsQatar’s path to defence autonomy

Qatar and other Gulf states should strengthen their defence capabilities and diversify security partnerships to reduce dependence on outside protection, the article argues. Qatar’s five-year goal should be a national strategy able to deter threats, withstand attacks and maintain continuity—not an army expected to fight a major regional power alone.
