CultureSingapore bans Massive Attack after Palestinian flag display at concert
Singapore has barred British trip-hop band Massive Attack from performing there again after a police investigation into a concert appearance. Authorities said two members unfurled a Palestinian flag, breaching the country’s prohibition on publicly displaying foreign flags, national emblems or banners without permission. Both members received “stern warnings” and were barred from returning to Singapore. The band has also been excluded from future performances in the city-state, which is known for strict rules governing public speech and assembly.
