Indian conglomerate Adani generated almost $1bn from its Queensland coal operations over the past year but will pay no company tax. Accounts show the Carmichael thermal coal business offset $963.5m in revenue with substantial production and related-party logistics costs. The company consequently reported a $340.6m loss for the year, wiping out its tax liability. Adani had previously promised to contribute billions through taxes and royalties.
