The Financial Times reports that Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has made the Black Sea the most dangerous waters for commercial shipping. At least 40 sailors have died there and more than 570 ships have come under attack since the start of 2026. Both countries seek to disrupt the other’s maritime trade, while rising attacks are affecting global fuel and food supplies.
