TechRussia’s Digital Development Ministry recommends underground or bunker data centers for strategic facilities

Russia’s Digital Development Ministry approved recommendations for protecting data centers from drones and other aerial threats. They divide critical centers into three categories and call for strategic sites to be placed underground or in bunkers, made less visible from the air, and equipped with physical reinforcement, electronic warfare and counter-aerial-threat systems. Ukraine has struck Yandex and Sberbank data centers in Russia; industry sources estimate replacing damaged equipment at Yandex facilities could take up to six months.
