Annah Zhu, an associate professor at Wageningen University and Research, said at the 2026 Global Governance Forum in Xiongan that China’s Global Governance Initiative can share China’s experience and amplify the Global South’s voice in global governance. She said environmental governance is a key part of the initiative and pointed to China’s work in renewable energy, tree planting and greening as evidence of its leadership.
