SportsHealey’s budget to provide £7m for Northern Olympics campaign

John Healey is set to announce a £7m fund in his first budget as chancellor for a feasibility study into a possible Olympic bid in northern England in the 2040s. The study will assess venues, transport, costs and the chances of success, with northern mayors and more than 40 elite athletes backing the idea.
