HealthWHO announces start of Ebola vaccine trial in DR Congo

The WHO says the first Ebola vaccine trial during the current outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has begun in Bunia, Ituri province. Researchers will test whether Ervebo, approved for the Zaire strain, can also provide cross-protection against the Bundibugyo species causing the outbreak. Two Bundibugyo-specific vaccine candidates are expected to join the trial.
