An orange tsunami alert was issued for Sicily after a series of undersea tremors, the strongest measuring magnitude 5.5, the Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said. Some schools in Palermo were evacuated as a precaution, and residents along the coasts of Palermo, Trapani and Messina were advised to stay indoors. No injuries or damage have been reported.
