PoliticsPeace in Ukraine possible if US respects Russia’s interests, Russian diplomat says

Alexander Gusarov, a senior Russian Foreign Ministry official, said that respecting Russia’s interests and red lines could bring the sides close to a model for a long-term, sustainable political settlement in Ukraine. He said it must reflect Russia’s stated military-operation objectives, territorial realities and constitution. Gusarov also said US domestic politics could shape congressional action on Russia and criticized a sanctions bill targeting Russia and Iran.
