Japan Football Association President Tsuneyasu Miyamoto warned that Saudi Arabia’s ongoing security situation could make it difficult to host the 2027 Asian Cup as scheduled. After attacks by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis escalated, several major events were cancelled or postponed. Miyamoto said Saudi officials would work with the AFC to decide whether the tournament can proceed.
