ScienceOrionid meteor shower set to peak overnight
The annual Orionid meteor shower is expected to peak on the night of October 21–22, with up to about 20 meteors an hour under ideal conditions. Created by debris from Comet 1P/Halley, it should reach its peak around 2 a.m. Beijing time on October 22. Moonlight may obscure fainter meteors; observing after moonset later in the night is suggested.
