TechAmid Starlink crisis, Finnish tech giants plan to help Ukraine build sovereign satellite system

Finnish companies ICEYE and Nokia signed a letter of intent with Ukraine’s Defense Ministry on Oct. 22 to develop a Ukrainian satellite communications system. Zelensky called the deal important for defense and resilience. The companies say the system would give nations control of satellites, ground equipment and terminals, reducing reliance on Starlink.
