WorldNearly all gas stations near Naples run out of fuel amid truckers’ protests
About 95% of gas stations around Naples have run out of fuel after truck-driver strikes and roadblocks disrupted supplies, putting medical transport and waste collection at risk. Some stations reportedly charge 4 euros per liter for gasoline and diesel, nearly twice the average of just over 2 euros. Local prosecutors have not ruled out mafia involvement in obstructing deliveries. Transport operators began blocking highways in southern Italy and Sicily more than a week ago to protest high fuel costs.
