Russian Ambassador to Montenegro Alexander Lukashik told TASS that Podgorica plans to join the EU in 2028. He said Montenegro’s visa regime for Russian citizens and full support for EU restrictions on Russia reflect its policy of severing ties with Moscow and aligning with EU policies. He warned the measures could reduce Russian tourism, hurt businesses and worsen the investment climate, adding that Brussels should not be expected to offset the losses.
