EconomySnowy Hydro 2.0 costs soar to 12 times its original estimate, but CEO says it ‘could have been worse’
Snowy Hydro’s latest projections put the project’s cost at at least A$22.2bn, with a contingency that could take it to A$25bn, and delay full commissioning until 2029. Tunnelling is 65% complete. CEO Dennis Barnes said the exceptionally complex project could have fared worse without its reset.
