ScienceAI to forecast spring flood levels in northern rivers
Scientists at St. Petersburg’s Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute developed a long-term method using AI to predict peak spring-flood levels in northern rivers. Forecast accuracy exceeded 80% in rivers of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region. The system uses 120 physical features, with algorithms tailored to individual basins.
