CultureVladivostok removes Solzhenitsyn monument at military’s request, reinstalls it a day later

Authorities in Vladivostok said the monument to Alexander Solzhenitsyn was removed at the request of Pacific Fleet leaders and veterans, who considered it out of step with other waterfront memorials. Officials later said it would be returned because it did not suit its intended location in Vera i Nadezhda Park or the park’s current layout.
