Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever told parliament he is confident the European Commission will no longer propose using Russian assets to fund Ukraine. He said some leaders who missed the December 2025 summit could still raise the idea, and warned that even discussing seizure could expose Belgium to legal proceedings because most frozen Russian assets are held there.
