Elon Musk said SpaceX and Tesla have formed special committees to examine a possible merger, which he believes has considerable merit because of their complementary AI work. No proposal has been agreed, and Tesla shareholders would have to approve it. The combined company would be worth more than $3 trillion. SpaceX also reported its first quarterly profit, posting $4.4bn for July–September.
