China Railway said the national rail network carried 3.05 billion metric tons of freight in the first three quarters of 2026, averaging 188,000 freight carloads a day, slightly above a year earlier. Coal shipments totaled 1.56 billion metric tons, while grain transport rose 15% year on year to 88.96 million metric tons.
