Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed IRGC Brigadier General Majid Ebn al-Reza as his defense adviser. Pezeshkian said he hoped the appointee would help advance government goals and address national challenges with practical recommendations. Ebn al-Reza had served as acting defense minister since March 2; Mehrdad Akhlaghi was named defense chief on October 18.
