Slate opened its first showroom last week in a former Tesla store in Chicago’s Fulton Market District. Visitors can inspect a prototype and customization options, buy merchandise, and place a $300 deposit on the Slate Truck. The stripped-down electric pickup costs $24,950 and features plastic panels, a minimalist interior, manual windows, and a projected 205-mile range.
