WorldRussia notes South Korean officials’ statements on normalizing ties

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko said Moscow had noted South Korean statements expressing a desire to normalize relations, while Seoul says full normalization can come only after the geopolitical situation changes and the Ukraine conflict ends. He said Russia would welcome practical steps, adding that Seoul joined sanctions against Russia first and Moscow did not initiate the break in ties. South Korean President Lee Jae-myung has said Seoul considers ties with Moscow important and will keep communication channels open.
