China’s 16th Arctic Ocean expedition team said the icebreaker Jidi completed an application test of domestically developed satellite internet along Arctic shipping routes. It reported the first successful verification of network communications spanning the Arctic, Antarctica and the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, closing the world’s last communications coverage gap.
