Egypt’s parliament postponed until October 26 a vote authorising the armed forces to support Saudi Arabia. The opposition Egyptian Social Democratic Party told its lawmakers to abstain, saying parliament lacked information on the mission’s aims, duration, cost and risks to Egyptian troops, as Houthi attacks on the kingdom continue.
