China’s southern province of Hainan is preparing to open a large biofuel plant at Yangpu Port. The 1.2 billion yuan project is expected to produce up to 300,000 metric tons of aviation fuel annually from food waste and cut carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400,000 metric tons a year once operational.
