Hurricane Trudy weakened to a tropical storm offshore from southwestern Mexico, and warnings for coastal areas of Jalisco, Michoacán and Colima were lifted. Flooding after heavy rain killed one person on Greece’s Rhodes, Evia and Sporades islands last week. Floods in Istanbul, Turkey, killed five, prompted nearly 600 rescues and forced at least 2,700 people to leave their homes.
