Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Monday that China firmly opposes and strongly condemns Japan’s negative actions, and has lodged solemn representations and a strong protest. The remarks followed Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s ritual and monetary offerings to Yasukuni Shrine on Oct. 17 and 19, as well as recent visits by Japanese officials, senior LDP figures and lawmakers.
