CultureMazu devotees from China and abroad gather on Meizhou Island to pay tribute
Events marking the 1,039th anniversary of Mazu’s ascension to heaven and her statue’s ceremonial tour of Meizhou Island opened Sunday. Representatives of nearly 160 cultural organizations and devotees joined a seaside ceremony and prayers. A bronze-statue donation and the launch of the “Four Seas, One Heart” initiative are also planned.
