China’s inbound tourism is increasing and improving in quality, with visitors venturing beyond major cities to smaller cities and counties, a report presented at a conference in Hubei said. China recorded 22.914 million visits by foreign nationals in the first half of 2026, up 20.4% year on year; nearly 80% were visa-free entries.
